Looking for a way to highlight your environmental commitment? Think video.
We love what Bob Moore Subaru and Subaru of Rochester have done recently with video. They’re simple, straightforward, and showcase green activities at the stores and in the community.
Inside, Bob Moore’s video highlights the retailer’s eco-wall, energy efficiency, water conservation and recycling. Outside, there’s footage of Bob Moore Subaru associates working beside students to insulate vegetable gardens at Oklahoma City’s North Highland Elementary School.

“While a yearly Community Involvement component is required to maintain Eco-Friendly Certification, we do like it when our retailers promote the event and recap it on social media, especially when they create videos,” said Megan Fleck, Eco-Friendly Retailer Program lead at SOA.
Bob Moore Subaru supplied the photos, and an outside firm put the video together. The retailer promoted the video on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Charles Davis, General Manager of Bob Moore Subaru, says the retailer plans to continue promoting its Eco-Friendly Retailer status. Future community projects are also in the works.
“We plan on continued support for several local schools and Keep OKC Beautiful projects,” said Davis. “As this involvement grows, we will be able to better understand the needs of the community and involve more employees from the store level.”
Subaru of Rochester produced its video in-house and released it on Facebook and Instagram stories on National Cut Your Energy Costs Day. It features the retailer’s Eco-Friendly certification and interior green signage, along with a challenge for viewers to make their own energy-saving strides.

- If video production costs aren’t in your budget, grab your phone. There are plenty of online resources to help you maximize your phone’s video settings, including this one for iPhone.
- Get some inspiration from our eco-videos for Dahl Subaru, Mark Miller Subaru, and Subaru Pacific. They were all made with Animoto, an online marketing video service that provides easy-to-use templates to combine still photos, videos, and text. There are many other phone apps and computer programs that allow anyone to edit simple videos.
